Back in 2007 I purchased a plot at the Aero Delahaye Air Park at Verchocq about 30 miles south of Calais. It has taken me a long time but I obtained planning permission in December 2012 and work started in July 2013. The exterior should be completed by the end of this year but I'm doing the interior myself over the next couple of years.
We found an excellent French digger driver who has done other work on the site. The foundations consist of several concrete pads for the steel with a concrete frost wall around the perimeter.
The steel was supplied and erected by Steelteam Construction (UK) Ltd. It forms the frame for the hangar and the base for the house on top. The galvanised steel is for a raised terrace at the rear of the building. Once the steel was done, Pascal and Francis made an excellent job of the hangar floor.
